Great Wolf Lodge is, without doubt, one of the most fun and exciting places that we’ve taken our kids to!
There are over a dozen of these premiere lodges located across the United States; we recently stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, KS. This location is over six hours away from where we live, but the long drive was more than worth it.
As soon as you walk through the doors, it’s obvious that this place is meant to be your home away from home. The lobby is spacious, warm, and inviting; our family met and lingered in the lobby several times during our stay. The lobby is also the location of several family activities that our kids loved, including character appearances, a show featuring a large clock tower, and pajama parties in the evening.
The huge arcade was, of course, another favorite stop for our kids. I was blown away by how many different games there were! We spent at least an hour at the arcade, yet I know I didn’t see all that it had to offer.
Great Wolf Lodge sets the standard for an indoor water park! This 38,000 square foot dreamland was the main destination for our family. A huge 4-story fort filled with water spouts, crawl spaces, and a massive tipping bucket at the top would provide all the fun we could ever want, but there’s way more to do here. Eight different water slides, a large kiddie pool, a hot
tub pool, a lazy river, and a large pool featuring several basketball goals kept our busy kids going all day.
There’s also an interactive adventure called MagiQuest that fills several large areas of the lodge. If you love magical adventures, this quest is for you. Or perhaps a round of mini-golf is more to your taste? Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, KS has a course!
There’s gift shops, a fitness center, a beauty spa, themed rooms with special sleeping areas for the kids, a great restaurant… the list goes on! The best part about our stay, though, has to be the outstanding customer service that we received. We encountered a very helpful and courteous staff, and loved how they worked to make Great Wolf Lodge our home. Mission accomplished.
There is so much to do and to experience! I recommend staying a minimum of 2-3 days; we stayed for three days and didn’t come close to doing everything there is to do.
If you and your family have never been to a Great Wolf Lodge, there’s no question: you simply must go.
