The Midland NOAA Weather Radio has been a valued member of our family for many years. Whether its morning, noon, or night, it’s always standing guard, ready to warn us if bad weather is headed our way.
No matter where you live, bad weather is a part of life. Growing up, I lived in several states in the U.S.A., and every one of those states have three things in common: lightning, hurricanes, and tornadoes, and I’ve personally experienced all three. Several times each, in fact.
Now that I have a family of my own, we do all we can to be – not scared – but prepared. And alert. Owning a Midland NOAA weather radio has been at the top of the list of those preparations.
We own the WR120, which is the classic model. It’s small, yet packs a powerful punch. The WR120 features S.A.M.E. localized programming and alerts you to over 60 kinds of weather hazards and emergencies. Setting up the WR120 is a breeze; just follow the simple instructions in the manual and you should be good to go! However, if you need further assistance, go to https://midlandusa.com/support/weather-radio-help/.
Even if the power goes out, the battery backup is there to keep the WR120 powered which keeps us prepared. It definitely gives us peace of mind, especially at night before going to sleep.
Midland features a wide array of radios, including two-way radios, which is also handy to have in the event of an emergency. If the power is out and cell phone coverage is down, you still have access to communication with a good two-way radio.
But if there’s only one Midland radio that you choose to own, make sure it’s one of their weather radios. There’s absolutely no excuse to not own one.
