As a child, I loved everything about electronics. Sure, playing them as they were intended to be used was fun and all, but that wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to know how they worked! At times, obsolete items like old radios, games, and even larger items like a VCR were subject to being taken apart for my investigative pleasure.
I seemed to have passed the love of what makes electronics work to my oldest son. His favorite toys are scientific, electrical, or robotic in nature; favorite books are anything to do with science and technology. And like his daddy, equally fun are opportunities to dismantle an unfortunate piece of tech.
As you can imagine, when we told him that we had the privilege of experiencing the new Circuit Scribe Draw Circuits kit, he was beyond elated. The package itself was enough to get him excited; as you can see from the opening image, the purpose of this kit is very obvious: You can draw your own circuits! It’s actually very easy to master and fun to use.
The basic kit, as pictured above, comes with a Circuit Scribe conductive ink pen and all of the accessories you’ll need to start drawing your own circuits. It also includes a magnetic sheet, six component modules, a circuit stencil, a sticker sheet, and a 9-volt battery.
The instructions at outlined in the manual are very easy to comprehend; my 9-year-old hit the ground running as soon as he opened it up. In the manual, there’s several circuit tutorials to help your little technician understand the basic principles of circuitry. Topics include: Voltage, Conductivity Meter, Light Emitting Diode (LED), and much more.
My son and I both consider the Draw Circuits kit to be an outstanding STEM educational toy. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and STEM products encourage kids to develop core skills in these areas.
Because Best Buy carries products from basic learning games to advanced toys designed to stimulate a child’s mind in the STEM areas, helping to develop logic and problem solving skills, you can expect to find Circuit Scribe Draw Circuits in their stores or on their website
